Here is an interactive map of where to find local producers or where to buy direct from producers in the French-speaking part of Switzerland. (Click the top right corner of the embedded map to enlarge to a bigger screen.)
Just click on a marker near you and the detail box will slide in from the left.
If you expand the embedded map to a larger screen, you can toggle layers of the map on and off.
Please leave a comment below if you know of somebody I have missed.
Get directions from the map:
- Click on the icon in the map where you want to go.
- The details box slides in from the left.
- Click the arrow in the top right of the box to get directions to the location.
How to search on the map
Here is a small video I made to show you how to search. I’m still optimizing the data, but it’s a start.
More information
Most of these websites are in French or German. You can use the Google translate feature to help you navigate or just call them up for more information.
Also, most of these producers show up at your local farmer’s markets. So you can also ask about subscriptions or try before you buy.
I subscribed to Terre Vaudoise when I first moved to Lausanne. They were just getting started then. I think they have much improved and are considered a benchmark for success. Surprisingly quite a few of my neighbours in Bossonnens use Label Bleu. I’ve also heard good things about Lumière des Champs.
Let me know which one you subscribe to and why in the comments.
