Recipe for glübier and 10% off online store from Barfuss Brewery

Barfuss Brewery foodie advent calendar

Hi Foodies, for our 06 December #FoodiesAdventCalendar, Karin from Barfuss Brewery in the canton of Thurgau offers a recipe for Glübier and 10% of any purchases of their beer online with the coupon code FOODIE.

Barfuss is a family owned brewery in the Thurgau. Bryan and Karin make artisan, hand crafted specialty beers. They offer a variety of more commonly known beer types like IPA, Amber or even a Whiskey Vanilla Porter.

For the more adventurous beer lover they created a range of beers under the name X-Series. These beers are made in smaller batches and only available for a short period of time. After trying them, the beer connoisseur can then go to barfuss-brauerei.ch and vote if the beer should be brewed again or not.

At the moment they have 4 different X-Series beers:

  • Hoppa Chuby a Milkshake IPA which features Mosaic and Citra Hops
  • Vienna Red: a Vienna Oatmeal Ale aged for 1 year inside a Pinot Noir barrel
  • The other two current X-Series beers are best enjoyed as a pair: Last Christmas, Bryan and Karin didn’t break a heart, but instead brewed a Barley Wine, half of the batch was soured and put into a Whiskey Barrel and the other half into a Pinot Noir Barrel. The results are called: Whiskey Sour Elf and Red Elf.

All beers come with serving suggestions. Karin is a Beer Sommelier and likes to try new and uncommon pairings, pairings that will delight and surprise you. Or have you ever tried Schlorzifladen with Amber Ale? Or made a Tiramisu with Porter? For more recipes check out her blog: https://barfuss-brauerei.ch/en/news/
